The City of Hamilton, Kehoe Marine Construction, and Brian Riggs Engineering will be meeting on Friday April 27th to develop a strategy for the wave attenuation wall. The underwater inspections have been completed and extent of the damage can now be assessed.
Kehoe will be refloating the wave attenuating wall with dive bags, and it will be completed in two to three weeks. The wall will be in place before Friday May 18th and will remain there until a repair/replacement plan is determined. The extent of the damage will define the next steps in the process.
Kropf has been on site making dock repairs and checking all the dock connections. Two sections of dock are currently being fabricated to replace damaged ones. The slip finger repairs will be completed before the wave attenuating wall, but the fingers will not be installed until the wall is back in place.
The launch schedule has been adjusted in light of the work that needs to take place. We are making the best use of the slips that are in well-protected areas first, which has allowed us to begin launching a good number of customer boats. If your launch time has changed, you will already have heard from us, and if any further adjustments are required, we will let you know as soon as possible. Our team will do everything we can to make sure launch is quick and hassle-free.
We’ll keep the Harbour West website blog updated with news on the wave attenuation wall. If you have any questions, please reach out to Tristen, Lynn, or myself.
Thank You,
