Marina Gas Dock Attendant
The Hamilton Port Authority is currently looking for a seasonal Marina Gas Dock Attendant. This position will run approximately to the end of October. The Marina operates seven days per week, 8am – 8pm. Attendants are expected to work on a shift rotation basis and must be available for all shifts (approximately 30 hours per week).
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide assistance to customers arriving at fuel dock with fueling and pumping out boats; accurately processing customer payments made by either debit, credit card and/or cash; balance transactions at end of day producing daily remittance/activity reports
- Report fuel spills; understand and adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental regulations regarding clean-up of fuel spillage, etc.
- Perform regular general clean-up of fuel dock area including fuel hoses properly stored and ready for use, dock clear of debris and unnecessary items and equipment, trash emptied on a regular basis, etc
- Perform daily ‘dock walks’ ensuring docks boards are in good condition, and dock/water are free of debris; report any issues/concerns to Marina staff; as required, extract debris from water (may include garbage, logs, dead fish/animals)
- Perform regular general clean-up of Marina facilities including washrooms, BBQ area, etc.
- Assume responsibility for additional tasks which may occur such as light general maintenance (i.e. painting, gardening, etc.), assisting transient boaters with slip rental

Seasonal Employment Opportunity
The Hamilton Port Authority is currently looking for three seasonal employees to assist the Harbour West Marina with the recreational boat haul out activities.
Reporting to the Marina Manager, the position will commence on or about September 10th, 2018 and run for approximately 6 weeks. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8 – 4 with potential for overtime.
This position is physical in nature, working in an outdoor environment, and requires candidates to be in good health. Duties include:
- Assisting with the haul out procedure boats
- Yard clean up
- Other duties as assigned
Candidates must possess good communication skills, work well in a team environment and hold a valid driver’s license. Preference will be given to candidates with boating/marina experience.
