As you’re probably aware, the provincial government implemented an emergency “Stay-at-Home” order as of today, for the next four weeks. The order does permit Harbour West to allow yard and storage access to customers so you can prepare for launch.
However, as a result of a positive COVID test among our crew, and the need for other crew members to isolate/be tested in turn, our launch schedule will need to be adjusted. We need to ensure everyone is healthy before proceeding so we can start this season on the right foot.
What this means for our storage customers
The yard and indoor storage will be accessible only to current customers that have provided a signed COVID-19 Screening Form to our marina office. The yard access hours as follows:
April 8th to April 18th: Monday to Sunday – 8 am to 8 pm
April 19th to May 28st: Monday to Friday – 4 pm to 8 pm; Saturday, Sunday and Holidays – 8 am to 8 pm
We will be sending out your adjusted launch date by email next week. Remember, when on the premises you must distance and wear a mask at all times, even on your own boat.
What this means for our slip holders
Our marina slips will open as of May 8th for slip holders. This will coincide with the City of Hamilton completing the shoreline improvement work, and access to the east marina. If you have reserved your summer slip with Harbour West and have a launch date set before May 8th, we will be accommodating you with a temporary slip on our east docks in the meantime.
For boats launching prior to May 8th, you should only visit Harbour West in order to check on your boat. Washrooms and the fuel dock will not be available during the stay-at-home order. Only members from your immediate household will be allowed on your boat.
We thank you very much for your continued cooperation. Please check in with us at 905-525-3622 or by email via [email protected] if you have any questions.
We are looking forward to getting our 2021 boating season off to a safe and exciting start!
